Brickfields - Radlett's Exceptional New Build - Launches Tonight!
24th Apr 2014
Located within minutes of Radlett’s town centre, in a rural Green Belt setting with boundless views over surrounding fields, the design of Brickfields is the result of visionary North West London interior design, build and architecture firm, Living In Space.
Inspired by the site’s historic use as a brickmakers, the property utilises an amalgamation of striking tessellated red brick and large panes of glass, particularly across the linear north and south wings of the scheme.
Set behind a bridleway approximately 300 metres from the main road, Brickfields perfectly combines progressive sustainable design and renewable energy. Much of the available space has been dedicated to the ground floor living areas which are ample. This includes the extensive open-plan kitchen, designed by Lauren Nicholas. Beautifully finished in tranché oak and composite stone, it features A+ rated appliances such as an integrated wine cooler, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, and double sink.
The ground floor also houses an open-plan dining and living area and a formal lounge, which has direct access to the garden. Elegantly landscaped gardens surround the property, accentuating its novel design.
On the first floor, the north and south wings each feature two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and an additional study in the south wing. Both wings are linked by a striking enclosed glass walkway, which allows for direct access to the roof terrace, its adjacent drinks bar and outdoor hot tub. The generously sized terrace is accessible from both sides of the property and offers uninterrupted views.
The kiln is the home’s most prominent design element and houses the master bedroom suite, a living room and cinema. The master bedroom demonstrates meticulous design and features a curved wall of windows which make the most of the incredible views. A walk-in wardrobe, dressing room, and an en-suite bathroom with exquisite fixtures and fittings complete the suite.
The kiln provides private access to the ground and basement levels via a curved staircase, directly from the master suite. The ground floor includes a luxurious living room while the basement level features the state-of-the-art cinema room with bar and wine cellar.
From here, there is direct access to the basement level of the north and south wings, which houses the heated swimming pool complex with changing room, steam room and gym. There is also a sixth en-suite bedroom.
A key factor of the property’s design is sustainability, and as a result, the property has been awarded Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5. At approximately 8,000 sq. ft. and featuring six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and numerous recreational facilities, its sustainable design means that the property is essentially self-sufficient, resulting in minimal annual running costs which are estimated to be 20% of what would be expected.
Security has also been prioritised. The property - and its double garage and three further visitor parking spaces - is set behind electric gates. Monitored by multiple CCTV cameras, footage can be viewed on televisions throughout the house at the touch of a button.
With meticulous attention to detail, every area of the property has been designed to be functional whilst using finishes and fixtures of the highest specification. This includes the audio visual system where key functions throughout the house can be altered and adjusted from the home owner’s phone or iPad.
To complement the interiors, Brickfield’s exterior boasts a landscaping plan which is contemporary but in keeping with the space and its surroundings. Perfectly suited for entertaining, these areas can be accessed directly from the internal living spaces and includes a dedicated BBQ area and a landscaped garden that has been designed to improve and support local biodiversity.
The property is available for £5,500,000.
