Leading interior design and build firm, Living In Space, is delighted to announce that it has won an International Property Award 2014/15 for its signature eco development in Radlett, Brickfields.
The company, which has historically worked with celebrity clients in London’s most exclusive areas, will be awarded the prestigious accolade at an official ceremony at Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on Friday 24th October.
Brickfields, Living In Space’s premier new build project, has been commended in the Development Sector category, as one of the first properties to truly merge eco living and high-end design, leading the way for sustainable development.
Living In Space incorporated the latest sustainable technologies seamlessly into the property design and the exterior is sympathetic to the home’s rural surroundings too; the striking combination of tessellated brickwork and glass pay tribute to the site’s history as a former brick maker’s as well as helping the home achieve its low carbon status. All bricks were handmade and locally sourced while the glass walls were designed to reduce dependency on heating and allow for beautiful light and open interior spaces, maintaining a close connection between the outside and inside.
Anita Kohn, Director of Living In Space, comments: “We are thrilled to have had our first development chosen for this prestigious award. It was always our intention to use Brickfields to communicate that there doesn’t have to be a compromise between luxury and eco living. Careful planning and utilisation of innovative technologies has led to the creation of a beautiful family home that doesn’t impact the environment. We hope that with this award, Brickfields can continue to be a prime example of much-needed sustainable development.”
The award for the Property Single Unit category is recognition of one of many outstanding schemes that the skilled Living In Space team has created since its establishment in 2001. Entrants for the category were judged against a strict set of criteria and the company was up against a number of high-profile developers in the county. The Award winners’ logo is recognised as a symbol of excellence throughout the industry.
This award could be the first of many as Living In Space also has the chance to represent the UK in the International stages of the Awards. Later this year, the highest scoring winners from the UK Property Awards will be considered with other regional title-holders in Asia, Africa, Canada, America and Europe to find the ‘World’s Best’. This will be announced at the grand final gala presentation at the Jumeirah Madinat in Dubai on Thursday, December 4th, 2014.
The Awards judging panel consists of over 70 highly respected experts from all over the world and is chaired by three active members of the House of Lords: Lord Caithness, Lord Best and Lord Courtown. Stuart Shield, president of the International Property Awards, said he was “delighted” to celebrate the achievements of UK developers, commenting, “If anyone needed any evidence that the UK is in good shape after the problems of recent years, they only need to look at our UK award winners and see the stunning developments across the region.”
