Many of us would love our home to look like a show home but how do the experts make them look so stylish and appealing. Upmarket house builder CALA Homes has recently opened its latest show home, The Belmont, at its extremely desirable Millbrook Park development in Mill Hill, which has been designed by Killer5 Interior Design Studio.
Samantha Simmonds, Creative Director at Killer5 comments, “A show home is very important for a development as it not only allows people to imagine themselves living there but it’s equally important to ensure that each show home we design reflects the target market that is anticipated to buy there. At Millbrook Park we wanted to create a contemporary, sophisticated and aspirational family home. These CALA homes have appealed to an overseas market so we wanted to reflect this by giving the home an international feel.
“Throughout the show home we have incorporated warm metallic tones of gold and bronze against a backdrop of taupe and chocolate. For example in the master bedroom, a gold feature wallpaper gives a striking, luxurious feel to the bedroom, whilst an elegant gold, velvet headboard is complemented by rich, textured cushions.
“As part of our brief we were also asked to use interesting art-work such as framed sculptural pieces. To some of the rooms we then added an accent colour of burnt orange and rust, such as in the living room where burnt orange cushions complement the sofas.
“The show home at Millbrook Park really reflects the themes that we see going into 2016. This year will be full of metallic colours such as antique gold and rose gold.”
