Stanmore has once again marked the start of the festive season by proudly adorning The Broadway with a range of lights, lamppost embellishments, and a stunning 20ft Christmas tree.
The tree - which is proudly sponsored by Preston Bennett - and the lights on the high street were switched on at the Stanmore French Market by Stanmore Chamber of Trade Chairman Raj Degamia of The Balloon and Party Shop. Arranged by the Stanmore Chamber of Trade, this authentic French and continental market took pride of place on The Broadway on Sunday 15 November, and signalled the start of the festive season.
“We worked extremely hard to ensure that the Stanmore Chamber of Trade was once again at the forefront of winter festivities,” says Chairman Raj Degamia. “Thanks to the support of local business, but more so the continued support of Preston Bennett, we were once again able to light up The Broadway and while doing so treated residents and visitors to an authentic French market experience.”
Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy over 20 stalls which featured a varied array of French and continental merchandise including cured meat, French cheeses, crepes, Spanish paella and Moroccan couscous. Fashion lovers were also well catered for with numerous accessories on offer including hats, scarves, belts, handbags, and purses, as well as arts and crafts and wood carvings being available for sale.
“The lighting ceremony and market were a tremendous success and go a long way to strengthen the foundations that the Stanmore Chamber of Trade are building,” comments Mr Degamia. “Established in 2013, we continue to partner with local businesses to work towards promoting Stanmore’s image as a place do business and to shop, and ultimately boost the morale of the local community."
