Residents at St Edward’s lakeside development Stanmore Place celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a summer garden party on Sunday. The event was organised by the developer St. Edward, as a way to bring the community at Stanmore Place together in the grounds of this award winning development and to celebrate this momentous occasion.
The Garden Party, attended by 250 residents had a strong Royal theme commencing at 11am with a traditional bagpiper walking through the development, a reference to the Queen’s daily ritual of being woken by a piper at Balmoral.
Guests congregated around the main decked communal area overlooking the feature lake, which had been transformed into a 1930s shabby chic theme with charming stalls made from upcycled pallets. As part of the theme, Stanmore Place was decorated in Union Jack bunting, residents also enjoyed a 1930’s DJ, party games and a face painter for the kids.
The developer St. Edward also provided a range of refreshments for the residents available at individual stalls including Pimms, homemade lemonade, Victoria Sponge, ice creams and traditional afternoon tea style sandwiches.
